Fish Tank's Mega Monster

This is a step by step how-to demonstrating the steps involved in tying a big full profiled fly for insanely large fish, that are to be caught from a kayak, on a flyrod!!!

Before we go on I must give credit where credit is due. I adapted an existing style of tying in the bucktail. This existing style is a technique popularized by Bob Popovics. My adaptation is to cut off the hook, tie mono to the eye of the cut hook, and then tie the mono to a full hook and continue the fly.

The other adaptation I employed, is to dub angel hair in at the head and comb it out and pull it back over the body of the fly. This idea came to me from Jack Gartside's "secret baby baitfish". I tied that pattern for a fly swap recently and found it to be a really nice technique. That pattern is comprised exclusively of dubbed material combed out into the baitfish profile.

Invite for my fishing friends...

Hello my fishing Friends!!!
{Face Book only allows 420 characters in a status update. So I can use more characters this way :D }

Those of you whom are fishing guides and/or outfitters, or have businesses in any genre of fishing/angling, if I may have your attention for a few seconds.

I am a kayak fishing and fly casting guide myself, along with being a photographer. I have just been invited to send a  link to a web resource, given to fishing content.

An open ended invitation was extended to me, to also inform any of my "fishing friends" who have business in any genre of angling, and extend this invite to them as well. If you would like your angling related business to have a link in this data base, please send an e-mail to antoutfitters@gmail.com.  We will forward the link for you.

Simply title the e-mail: "Per Hank's Invite". In the body of the e-mail just add your link. I wished to extend this offer to my angling brethren/sistren{is that a word??? Should be...:D} in an attempt to send appropriate business your way.

This is an open ended invite. There's no cost for the link being advertised, so tell any fishing businesses you frequent about this. As it's been explained to me the links are to serve as resources to future clients in need of any angling product or service. Any questions or concerns may be addressed in an e-mail to antoutfitters@gmail.com.

Thanks for your time. I hope this may benefit your fishing business!!!
Tightlines and safe travels!!!
Hank

Mother's Day

Welcome!!!
As I type this it's snowing, and I'm reminded that Mother's Day is still a few months away. For those of you in the Scranton Times distribution area now is the time to start thinking about having your Mother's Day images captured for the Mother's Day edition of the news paper.

Just because we are suffering the effects of a bum economy doesn't mean or shouldn't mean that our memories and time together should suffer as well. I have set up my business structure in such a fashion that I have little to no overhead. I travel to you, or a location of your choosing. The sitting may be scheduled according to your convenience. Through a careful and detailed consultation I qualify your expectations and needs so as to most economically provide you a portrait session and product you will be proud to display.

I'm more than happy to entertain any and all questions regarding a future portrait session. You may reach me via e-mail at hch3photography@gmail.com or call me at (570)983-7080.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Stay tuned...
